We are just starting out with 7 little Easter Eggers. They are are month old today and already trying to fly out of the brooder, which we were warned about. I have a top on them so that won't happen. We're almost finished with our coop so they should be out there soon.

:welcome - great to have you onboard and congrats on your new flock.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread  as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

All the best

glad you have joined us.

They all really do grow up quite fast and can jump and fly a lot higher than I would have expected at young ages.

The EE's are also require higher fences when grown - at least that's what I have been told :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome! When our coop is finished they will have a run that is built to keep out predators 7.5 feet tall with aviary net over the top. We are using 1/2 inch hardware cloth on the actual coop because we have so many raccoon, foxes, coyotes, and rat snakes. I've never seen weasels, skunks or other predators around here, thank goodness.
