1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Last week

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 6 chicks

(3) What breeds do you have? 4 Americana, 2 rhode island reds

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Looking up Michigan's Right to Farm Act on a search. Boy am I glad I found you!!!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Crafts, playing with the grandkids, Agility, obedience and breed ring with my papillons, gardening

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My name is Kim. I am an RN. I was widowed at age 47, almost 2 years ago. John and I were married for 27 years before he died from complications from a liver transplant. After he died, I became very depressed as I was totally alone for the first time in my life...the kids grown, married and moved away, husband, cat and dog died within a few months of each other. To pull myself out of the depression, I got a new papillon and decided to start showing him in the breed ring, training for obedience (rally) and now trialing in agility. But I didn't stop there lol. I also got a cat and another papillon...needless to say with all the young ones in the house I am not lonely anymore, plus all the cool new friends I made through the dogs.

I have long loved gardening and have several raised beds in my small city backyard. Now I have 6 new chicks...guess I am going to probably have to challenge the city sometime with the Michigan Right to Farm Act as "livestock" is forbidden in city limits. Well I have tons more to say but you will learn all about me in time. Kim
