What is culling?
Its my understanding that in the case of chickens, "culling" means to remove from the flock, for a variety of reasons. Doesn't necessarily mean they're destroyed or eaten - it could mean that they are placed in another home.
Am I right?

In the strictest sense it simply means removing from the flock or the gene pool if you're breeding.
Maybe you can find someone else to take the birds. For most folks though it usually means killing the bird which is then usually eaten.
