I am new to chickens, I have a hen who has been sitting for four days. We are getting snow right now, I was not ready for this weather. It will be cold all week and then 70 this weekend. Does the hen need any extra heat? If she does hatch the chicks can they make it this late?

You're getting snow in Colorado? [IMG] Wow! Sorry, that 's' word tends to do that to me!
No, she keeps the eggs warm enough. She should be fine along with the eggs.

Snow this early, is Mother Nature's way of making sure we are getting ready for Winter. Just a reminder of what is in store for us.
