"Remember how you told me he'd wanted to raise chickens for a living, be a farmer?
I kept wondering if that was the last thing that went through his mind when he died: 'I should have raised chickens like I wanted to.'
And it made me so ... sad."
Just finished it and the book is fabulously freaky, and tearjerking (I admit, I was brought to tears several times).
Anybody read it? Perspective? Tom read it before me and we were talking about it this evening. Tom said dogs and I say swans (among other things, but I wouldn't want to give it away).
Anyway, it was an interesting read.
