My Aracauna/silke has been gagging to get in the yard with her chicks so I let her and them.
They are approx 12 days old light Sussex.
She was after a dust bath and a bit of overseeing of the other chooks ( she being the top dog)
She taught the chicks how to dust bath scour for bits and pieces on the coop floor, she is a top mum.
I divided the coop with mesh, this means that she can see the other hens, get her and the chicks exercise and chick education.
She seems happier as an outcome, as do the chicks.
