keeping food and waterer clean

I bought the standard feed and waterer for my babies. the second week I could not keep it clean. I used a cool whip container, standard size, both bases fit perfect. It raises them just enough so when they scratch all the shavings dont go in either one. I'm sure that nextweek will be a whole new ball game. so far they have not knocked them over.

We buy eggs by the flat and kept the flats cuz we were gonna use them for our eggs but what I did was flip the egg carton upside down and put the water and feeder on top of it off center they have to jump on the flat and when they get up there they are out of the shavings. It works like a charm... These flats are not styrofoam they are cardboard.

I've got mine sitting on 2 bricks, works great.

i sit mine on blocks of wood, rocks or bricks and raise them up a little at a time.

Once they get a little taller, I use overturned stainless steel dog bowls.
