khaki campbells, mating and eggs

    my khakis are about 4 months old. I just started noticing them mating. assuming I should start to get eggs soon? I haven't seen an egg yet, so wondering if they would be soon, or if they already are and are hiding them....this is my first go with ducks.

    I think around a month after the mating begins until the eggs come. So you should build them nest boxes and start feeding them layer feed about now and keep an eye out.
    I wasn't watching out and by the time I found they were laying there were three eggs already. Thankfully they were still good[​IMG] .
    If you do find ya missed some just do the water test.

    Also wanted to add...put golf balls in the nests so they get the idea.

    pss. I checked my calender and my ducks started laying at 18 through 20 weeks.Hope that helps.
