Kitten threat

I just rescued a 4-5 week old kitten. I have not taken it to the vet to get checked, but am worried if it comes in contact with my goose that, my goose will get worms or a disease from it.

I try to wash my hands before I touch my goose, but should I get my goose checked just in case?? I don't want him to get sick from the cat.

A cat and a goose is an entirely different species so I doubt they can spread disease to each other
