I'm afraid my daughters 1 year old pyncheon hen might not make it. She went out to the coop this afternoon to do chicken chores and noticed right away that Sonjia did not look right.
Her comb was wavy looking and purplish, she knew that was not good. The hen also did not walk vey well and was breathing heavy. overall face color looked pale.
We brought her in the house and put her in a cage. She has been in the kitchen for about 6 hours and has not poped yet. She did drink a bit several hours age but her breathing has gotten very labored and she now has her head tucked under her wing. We could not notice and noticeable signs of being egg bound. Her vent is clean, no poopy mess, but the vent did have a slight purple tinge to the top of it. Her breathing is labored and her vent appears to pulsate? Don't know if it looks to be pulsating from the heavy breathing.

No nasel discharge, no wheezing, No mites or lice.

No change of feed. About two weeks ag we put several youngsyers in the coop. They were our own birds we hatched and they lived in the pen next door. Everyone else is doing well. The introduction went smooth. Sonjia is low on the pecking order and has had some feathers plucked out just above her tail.

Any ideas???

Sonjia pooped once during the night. She was sleeping on a wire shelf in the cage so the poop ran down the side of the water jar. It was white with a little bit of grey.
She is puffed up and labored breathing, keeps eyes mainly closed but does not have her head under her wing this morning.
