Question has been asked. We have our chicks in the brooder(playpen converted) in the loft of our house. This time of year we get lots of ladybugs. Are they harmful if the lil ones eat them? Had to ask......

I wouldnt think so. Ldybugs are generally safe, and small. YUMMY!

My chickens don't like the taste of ladybugs. That's a good thing since I have a large garden and I want all the ladybugs out there that I can get. They really wipe out the aphid population.

We're in the midst of our twice yearly ladybug invasion. Weyerhauser Timber Company dumps them on us twice a year (by helicopter). My chickens wouldn't touch a ladybug if they were starving.
It was a big disappointment to me to find this out when I first got chickens.
