Large combed chick.. because of the breed?

So I posted this chick asking if it was male/female. Everybody was saying male at 3 weeks because of the large comb. This chick mother is an andalusian chicken and has a really large comb. It flops to one side and the father is inknown, a mixed breed. He also has a big comb that flops to one side, he is big, about 10 lbs. here are the parent
pictures. Does this have anything to do with how big the comb is? Or is the chick just a cockerel? A picture of their chick will be at the bottom.

The chick is just a cockerel.

Your bird is just starting to feather out and it has a large comb, and that is only likely to happen with a cockerel. Female combs develop much later than male combs in all breeds.

Having a pronounced comb so early does mean that the chick is likely a cockerel. But, there are exceptions. I have a hen who grew a big comb very early. You should repost when the chick is 8-12 weeks old.

I be live I already saw this little guy, but 1000% a boy, that comb is huge! Tell him I said congrats on the nice little comb.
