My 4-month old Turkey has a gaping injury on his back, right where the wing starts. It is about 2 1/2" long and gaping about 3/4". I am not sure how he aquired it.
As soon as I noticed it, I cleaned it as best I could, put powder for bleeding on it and slatherer on Triple-antibiotic ointment with pain releiver.
Today the wound looks like it is draining. Should I give him some oral antibiotics also? If so, what should I give him? and How much? Or should I give hime a shot? What? How much?
Please let me know what to do?
