Large, possibly growing, lump on baby chick's chest

Thanks for the additional info. It helps narrow things down. The space is fine for four one-week olds at present, as is the temperature. The cool space is good. In two weeks, you should move them into a larger space, though.

Since you describe this chick as standing directly beneath the heat lamp, and it's peeping softy, I take, non-stop? It is likely this chick is failure to thrive. She is having trouble getting warm. This could mean she isn't utilizing calories and nutrients probably due to immature organs.

I suggest you get some Poultry Nutri-drench and give her an undiluted drop alongside her beak each day, and mix some in the water for all the chicks to drink. Make it look like weak tea, and mix it fresh each morning.

This is a special formula for poultry that "mainlines" the nutrients without her needing to digest them. This is crucial since her digestive system likely isn't completely developed.

Hopefully, her problems are minor and this will get her launched.
