Largest Egg I've ever seen PICS

This is not the largest I'm sure but I've never seen one this large. It was laid by my RIR this morning. She just started laying 12-21-09, she is 61/2 months old. The egg measured 3 inches long. I'm sooo proud.

Last year I had 2 Buff Orpingtons laying large eggs like that. Both died of being egg-bound.

If I were you, I'd keep a close eye on THAT hen.

We've got a couple production reds that lay eggs like that, I always feel bad for whoever lays them, but we haven't had any problems with them. Hopefully you won't either. Good luck!

that looks like it hurt watch out for those she could case them to prolapse watch out for somthing bloody hanging from theier vent ive read alot about it ill give you links if this happen just pm me and ill include links and cures
