Hello everyone, I urgently need to rehome a rooster... thought he was a hen, and ended up not being so and roosters are illegal in residential areas where I live. I'm in the Henderson/Las Vegas area in Nevada -- please let me know asap if you are interested.

I AM IN FT. LAUDERDALE, I RESCUED A ROOSTER THREE YEARS AGO, STAYED INDOORS. GOT EYE INJURY. TOOK TO VET FOR A CHECK AND THE VET KILLED HIM. HEARTBROKEN. THIS WAS TWO WEEKS AGO AND STILL NOT OVER IT. CAN THESE BIRDS BE SHIPPED SAFELY?? I AM FAMILIAR WITH STUPID GOVERNMENT RULES. IN MIAMI, RIGHT NEXT TO FT. LAUDERDALE, THEY BANNED PIT BULLS. STUPID RULES MADE BY STUPID PEOPLE.

MY ROO WAS INDOOR-OUTDOOR BUT EVENTUALLY HE DID NOT WANT TO GO OUTSIDE. I REALLY SCREWED UP AND THIS CLOWN WAS AN AVIAN VET.

YOU ARE PROBABLY TOO FAR AWAY, BUT IF ITS SHIP HIM OR HE DIES, I CAN TAKE HIM AND HE WILL LIVE A GOOD HAPPY LIFE AS A PET AND NOT BE EATEN. I AM A VEGETARIAN ANIMAL RESCUER AND KNOW HOW AMAZING THESE BIRDS ARE. BLEW ME AWAY WHEN THE ONE I RESCUED PRIOR TO TURNING INTO A ROOSTER ACTED MORE LIKE A DOG, FOLLOWED ME, SAT ON MY DESK AND PUT HIS HEAD ON THE BACK OF MY HAND, ETC. GOING AFTER THAT VET WITH A LAWSUIT AND EVENTUAL LICENSE COMPLAINT WITH STATEMENTS BY EXPERTS AT UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA WHERE HE WAS NECROPSIED. THE JERK ASKED ME IF HE WAS TO BE EATEN AS SOME ANTIBIOTIC HE WAS GIVING MY BIRD WAS NOT TO BE IN THE FOOD SUPPLY. WHY WOULD I EAT HIM IF I AM IN THERE WILLING TO SPEND WHATEVER IT TOOK TO FIX HIS EYE. MORE TO IT. I WAS DEVESTATED. HE DID NOT PROPERLY ADMINISTER THE ANESTHETIC. YOU CANNOT SIMPLY USE A MASK ON POULTY. YOU MUST HAVE POSITIVE PRESSURE IN THE AIRWAY OR THEY SUFFOCATE WHICH I LEARNED ONLY AFTER THE FACT.

ANYWAY, SORRY FOR THE LONG STORY!

    TAKE CARE!
    STEVE
