    Hi
I would like to raise and breed the lavender Sussex, Orpington, Araucanas or any breed that is lavender.
Do you know where I could find a breeding trio of these breeds?
    Thank you
    Nikki, Indiana

Lavender is also called "self-blue". Its a lighter blue color than the Andalusian-type blue and breeds true.

Lavender is hard to come by. You might have too do a lot of searching to find them in those breeds. People are working on them, but it takes time. [IMG]

Quote:True, but from his website you have to order 25 chicks. No adult birds are listed. Oh and they are bantams. [IMG]

If you contact him, he does sometimes sell breeders. And yes, they are bantams, I guess I didn't read that she was only looking for standards?

Oops, I didn't read the "any other breed that is lavender" I just saw the breeds listed, so actually my error. [IMG] I'm actually hopefully getting some lavenders from him at the end of the week. [IMG]

Quote:You're the one who stole my Lavenders!! I didn't get his email until the next day, and it was too late. [IMG] But you saved me from having a bit of explaining to do (to my husband). [IMG]
