I purchased 5 lavender orpington chicks from a local hobby hatcher. Nice clean pens, VERY nice and healthy birds. The Lavender Orpington pen looked to be all true. My chicks look right, but I noticed that two of the chicks have mostly yellow beaks with a few black spots. Is this normal coloring for a Lavender Orpington chick? Will it change as they get older? Is it an undesired trait or just part of a normal chick for this (unrecognized) breed?

I can't say anything about Lavender Orpingtons but I do know well that even among the same breed the chicks vary in way they look. I wouldn't worry, just let them grow up into beautiful hens.
