My question is when do new chicks start laying eggs? At what age?
What kind of chickens? I'd say at approx. 4 months, but its been a while for me.
The quickest I've ever seen are Red Sex-Links. On average, they start laying at 22 weeks. My six hens all started between 19 and 21 weeks and continue to lay around 33 eggs per week from all six hens. They lay a large brown egg that is HUGE compared to the SLW and AGF hen.
