Laying...now not laying

:/My hen started laying a bout a week ago. She was laying one egg everyother day.
Then we got rid of our rooster due to city, now she has not layed and egg since. Is this normal? Will she start to lay again?
I know that you dont have to have a rooster for eggs, just curious as to what is going on.

could be several things (and probably more than that!)

1. change of the flock
2. temps dropping/raising
3. any stressful ANYTHING
4. sometimes they just do that when they start
5. feed change
6...you name it, that could be it!

The change in circumstances might also affect them.

She won't moult this year (but she will next fall), and she can be encouraged to lay right up to the end of next August by making sure she has at least 14 hours light per day.
