Laying sesons?

    What is a laying seson? I have a chicken book and it said that laying gos way down after 3 laying sesons. What does that mean?! Thanks for the help! I have about 10 monthold white leghorns. When will they stop laying?

    UMM..iF i HAD TO GUESS-IT WOULD MEAN THEY LAY FOR A PERIOD OF TIME..moult..start laying again..moult...lay for the last time-not the last time but the last of the really good laying seasons...

    Yep, 'years' as in 8 months then molt, 12 months then molt, whatever. Most birds lay at their max for 2-3 years and then slow down.

    What most books refer to as a laying season is the time from Spring to Fall. So 3 seasons is 3 years.
