Bought some new chicks today and managed to sneak them under my broody hen. Right now the thermometer outside is hovering around 0C (32F). It's warmer in the coop due to the heat lamp but it is still cold. Do I need to bring the bunch inside or can the hen handle it? She is devoted but my main concern is that she won' t take them to feed and drink, or if she does, that the chicks won't do much besides shiver. Any thoughts?
I read online that this shouldn't be problematic but still...

Whilst i live in a warm climate, I've read that it should not be a problem if the momma hen is committed to accepting them. If she has accepted them, then i don't see any reason why her hormones won't kick in and she'll take them to eat and drink etc. Maybe just keep a very close eye on her and be prepared to intervene if it doesn't work.

Let us know how it goes
