Sizing depends on what kind of band you get. Some use "standard size" numbers, some go by the inside diameter measurement, some are just adjustable

Personally I bought these for standard sized chickens, and I was very happy with the service that I received from Ketchum, as well as the bands!!! http://www.ketchummfg.com/Adjustable-Seal-Leg-Bands-Colored-Aluminum-Numbered-and-Lettered-p468.html

    Since
they don't grow with the chicks, I put them on whenever I think they are about done growing. WING bands can be put on day-olds and stay on the bird for their entire life. They seemed hard to apply to my adult birds so I opted for leg bands. [IMG] I don't know a whole lot about banding chicks, I have always used zip ties for IDing younger birds, just gotta watch em and change them out as they grow.
