I have 10, 17-19week old pullets and a few have red spots on the legs. They look uniform throughout the leg and are not raised or sick looking. Is this a normal thing on pullets? Thanks

I know that roosters' legs will turn a bright red-orange color when their hormones are peaking. I haven't seen it in any of my hens though. If you can post a pic it would help a lot.

Could you post pictures? Then we could see in detail, and may have an ideal as to what could be wrong.

Hope this helps, I realize this doesn't show well but see those red spots? They are kind of on the sides only.

My Speckled Sussex have the same thing. Small red dots down the sides of their legs. The hens and my roo all have them. Don't know what it is. They are healthy and it doesn't seem to bother them.

Yay! Good to hear! Since you have SS, do you think she is a she? This is my first chicken raising experience. She is 19 weeks today.

Looks like a she to me! My roo looked like a boy by 4
weeks and started crowing at 5 weeks. He's 17 weeks now and is still really sweet. Hoping he stays that way.
