I have just purchased ten eggs from a breeder with a blue splash rooster, the hens are buff she said. I have not seen her stock but she has had good results she said, from other people that have hatched her eggs.
I have a black easter egger crossed with a leghorn, she lays a pink egg, but her babies lay blue eggs, the rooster is a pure bred blue Americana. Here we call them Araucanas ,
Anyhow I hope the leghorns all hatch, they are going into an incubator, I have hatched chicks before this way and it was a good result.
I do prefer a hen doing the job,
