Leghorn hens with a heavy breed rooster (Maran Rooster)

Is it possible for ar heavy breed rooster-Maran to mate with a leghorn hen(light breed)?
Someone asked me If I wanted a Maran rooster.
I have one rooster but I am not sure if the breed rooster would be an asset to my flock.
(13 leghorn hens,two RIR hen and a kellso rooster)

Most definately!
I have 2 leghorns, and my big barred rock mates them daily. Even my Minorca, which has a thinner carrage than the leghorns, gets mated by this Roo.

They occasionally have missing feathers but no injuries not even scratches.
