Leghorn Molting Behaviors

My five Leghorns have apparantly begun their first molt... I think. They are all missing feathers on their heads and necks, and there are feathers everywhere in their yard. However, their laying has not changed a bit. Does anyone have an experience with Leghorns molting? Is this molting or something else? They get along famously, no signs of bugs or blood, free range, plenty of food water, exercise, etc. Generally happy little ladies.
