Leghorn rooster Comb sores

Hi,

My leghorn rooster has developed strange sores on him comb. I have no idea what it is from. It appears to start as a small ulcerated area then it blackens and the ulcer seems to spread. It is on both sides of his comb but one side is worse than the other.
Any ideas what it might be?

No frostbite yet where you are, right? Fungus perhaps? Does he have access to anything corrosive?

Definitely not frost bite, it doesn’t get cold enough where I am.
No access to anything corrosive that I know of.
I thought maybe a fungus but none of my hens are affected by it.
