I have a 2-3 week old leghorn, at least I think she is a leghorn, with toes that curl to one side. She seems healthy otherwise and gets around fine, I just wonder if her toes will be a problem as she gets larger. IMG_20180403_123315881.jpg IMG_20180403_123313148.jpg

Not a leghorn. He or she has some very large feet. Where did you get this chick?

At tractor supply. Actually, now that I think of it, I got 2 yellow chicks. 1 was supposed to be a leg horn and the other they said was a pullet but had no breed info. This might be that one.
Here is the other one. Is it a leghorn?

I cannot help on breeds, but I have read that being too cold can cause the toes to curl sideways. Hopefully someone else will chime in!

Addressing the problem with age, they can get arthritic is the chicken lives a very long time, but my friends chickens who look like that are all 5-6 years old and they still get around fine.

Thanks. I have six and this is the only one like this. Also the only one of this breed. Of course there is no telling what the conditions might have been before I got them at TSC.

Thanks. I will assume she is going to be fine then and address the problem if it becomes one later.
