Week One- in the house 5/31/18View attachment 1439551


Week Two-- They have the whole coop to themselves View attachment 1439553 at 2 1/2 weeks I stopped using the heat lamp, it was warm enough at night with the coop windows & doors clased

At the end of week 2 they figured out the "porch sitt'n roost branch" All they chickens I have ever had loved to sit in the evening until it was just about dark View attachment 1439559


Now they are 3 weeks old, sleep on the lowered roost, no heat lamp, just living the Chicken Dream Life:love:love:love:love:love:love
I love your signature, very inspirational.
 
Well, I hope all of the new feathers have come in and we are done with "Feather Season". They are all over the place. the new chickens are 16 weeks old. They could start laying anytime.

I could be a "first egg" for one of the new hens or the odl hen that has been laying non stop for 2 years did it
 
Well, the one new chicks that laid the first egg, laid 4 and then skipped a few days and laid one today. I have read it is normal for new layers to do this in the beginning.
