leghorns , Pearls, California Whites? What's the difference?

I see all these different lines of leghorn and leghorn type hens. I'm thinking about starting a laying flock later on. Can anybody give me more details about the different varieties of White leghorns. Thanks in advance.

okay-- If nobody wants to tell me about White leghorns, How about the other varities and colors. I know they supposedly don't lay as well as whites, but is it a big difference or only minimal?

I don't know what a pearl is, but a California White isn't a pure leghorn it is a leghorn type cross.
