Good morning!
My name is Denise and I live in northern IL.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes we are new to chickens. We got our first dozen in March of 2017.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We purchased 12 chicks from a straight run, and one of them turned out to be a rooster. When the rooster found his voice, I didn't want to upset too many of the neighbors, so I found him a good home. Shortly thereafter, when the hens were out free in the yard, one of them disappeared. So I currently have 10 hens. We also have two white Pekin ducks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have Rhode Island Reds, Isa Browns, and Barred Rocks

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Being outdoors - four wheeling, kayaking, swimming,
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Our home consists of my boyfriend, me, 2 dogs, 2 cats, a gecko, 10 hens, and 2 ducks. I have a teenage daughter who comes and goes as she pleases.
