1) What type of bird , age and weight. Black Sex Link, 22 weeks.
2) What is the behavior, exactly. Lethargic, standing or laying in one spot not moving, not eating, drinking little, labored breathing. Laid what looked to be a shell less egg with blood in it this morning. Vent appeared crusty, gave warm bath.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? 6 hours
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? No
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. She tore her claw nearly off last week, lost alot of blood but seemed to recover. Doesn't appear to be pussy or infected.
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. No idea.
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Until this morning, she free ranges all day but has access to oyster shell, layer crumbles and water. Eats fresh fruit, greens and yogurt as treats.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. Runny yesterday, but haven't seen any today.
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Warm bath, checked for any shell inside, but couldn't find any.
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? Would like to treat myself
