We just picked these little guys up from the feed store. We know what they are supposed to be, but we want to know what if the feed store had it right.

Cayuga, Khaki, Mallard?

Brown: Khaki Campbell
Yellow & Brown: Mallard
Black: No clue

The black would be a cayuga.

I am so glad they played name that breed. I do believe I am the proud owner of two feed store mallards!

Seriously, the feed store(no names mentioned) had a list of possible breeds but no clue which mine were. My crazy sister thought she had to have a duck, but shes a firefighter and has no time. So my kids got ducks. I thought they may be mallards. It was on the list.

Well, you have a mallard and I think the black one might be a runner, but I'm not sure. I don't know about the other two.

According the the signs at the feed store they are:
Black: Cayuga
Brown: Khaki Campbell or runner
Black and yellow: Rouen

Are they the same age?

A lot of people confuse rouen and mallard ducklings because they look the same until they're older. Rouens tend to have two brown eyestripes and mallards only one with a little dot.
