I have been a Mille Fleur Cochin Bantam breeder from a little over a year now. I strive for perfection with my birds :)
I started with a pair, and now have fourteen birds, and three generations. They keep getting better!
So...calling all Mille Fleur Cochin breeders! Let's talk about our birds!

Here's mine!

This is a third generation cockerel I am keeping :)

This is my original cock (Pardon the comb, he got in a fight with a Cornish X hen this morning X(

Here's my original hen. I'm amazed I ever got chicks she's such a broody! She got her white reeeaaallllllyyyy slow (Hatched all brown, of course) and her chicks seem to do the same thing.

This is my best cock. I love his colouring!

My best hen, who I will pair with the above cock when I start hatching again in February.

This hen is pretty good, but like her mother, is getting her white in super slow. I hope that in a couple more months she will have a bit ore on her wings/chest.

And finally, the slowest hen of all. She is the same age as the other two, but is smaller and is maturing much more slowly. Just started getting her white last month, but her white is more spread out then the above hen, so I hope when it all comes in that it will look great!

I have four more third generation, most of which haven't started getting their white in yet.
First cockerel. I will be selling him since he holds his tail rather low and for a cockerel, has very little white for his age.

This pullet has some good white on her back, and I will be keeping her to breed.

This is the only one I'm not sure if it's a cockerel or pullet yet. Either way, I would like to see a little white by now and will probably be selling.
This little guy is great, but I will probably be selling him due to excess cocks. He is feathering out like my favourite cockerel did and has a wonderful stance.

I also have two cocks I will be selling:

This one is great, but again, I have too many cocks.

I don't even know if I can rightly call this one a mille fleur. He's orange

So of course I'm not keeping him on for breeding.

And lastly, I want an opinion on this cock. Doesn't have as much white as I like to see, but has a great shape and wonderful personality

Sorry about all the muddy feet, it just won't quit raining

They normally have good, large boots.

So, if you've got milles, want milles, or just like to talk about milles, come on and join the conversation!

Glad to see this thread making a comeback, this breed/color is one of my all time favorites!

@black_cat my entire flock was killed by weasels a few years back:hit(About the time I dropped off the BYC radar for awhile)
I haven't gotten back into breeding, I've been too busy. I hope to get back into it when life calms down, if I can find a good source to get me going again. I just have a small laying flock now.

I'm not interested in breeding mille fleur cochins myself, but it seems like such an interesting color to get right! Is there a standard of how much black and white there is? A 'correct' shade of brown? A way that the colors/spots are supposed to be distributed? I don't know anything about the color and am super interested. @MadamPoofyBrow how is your breeding going?

I feel ya! Most of my flock was killed yesterday, but by some chance I’ve been able to track down birds from 2 separate breeders! While I’ll never be able to replace my birds because each one has a unique color pattern I am getting a calico trio from the person I got my first birds from and a group of millies from one of the best breeders of Mille in the country (Cindys plucky cluckies)
Then I’m going to get npip certified and by late May I’ll hopefully be able to ship nationwide id love to help you restart, but you might want all Mille.
And as promised @The Moonshiner here are some pictures of my flock, but many of these were killed yesterday

In an attempt to bring this thread to life...
I tried to get some pics oft he 'betrothed' today XD I don't normally selectively pair off any particular ones, and just keep the best all in a pen together. But, I think these two would be great toegether, so I'm gonna try it...
This is them being cold. It's FREEZING! Chasta (hen) is on the left, and Regius (cockerel) is on the right

Here they are snuggling

Chasta being creepy

Chasta being creepy again XD

They got fascinated with the screen

This one shows Chasta's colour pretty good

Regius moved to the arm of the chair

Chasta thinks she's big. She's shaped like a tiny beach ball XD

And Riley jumps up, photobombing Regius

Stealing all the glory XD

He finally left when a hen walked by XD

Then Reid walked by, so I took a couple pics of my best boy :-D

Being awesome XD

Looking at a bug I didn't see :-o

Both about to fall asleep XD

I am located in Central Oregon and my flock of bantam mille fleur cochins is getting older - I lost a few to old age this year. I have been looking for mille fleur cochin eggs or chicks, but haven't found anything. Does anyone have some available? Here is a photo of my flock, two of the three mille hens you see have passed. :-( I just got a new rooster (a drizzle Mille) so I will be doing a fertility test. Then I may be selling hatching eggs :-D

They are only 3 weeks old but my neighbor think they are Mille Fleur. Any thoughts?
They're s but young to tell but they do look like they could be milles. If you'll post pics of them again in a couple of weeks, I'll be able to tell better :)
