lice on my birds

I picked up.my rooster today and got some lice walking around on my arm I put DE out twice this week because I saw them.picking a lot but obviously it's not working what other natural remedies can I use for it

Permethrin poultry dust, weekly on the birds, and in the coop, is approved for use in chickens, and will work. Lice and mites will turn up unless the birds are isolated indoors all the time, and have to be dealt with. As you've seen DE isn't the answer. Right now I'm dealing with mites, also nasty! I use Ivermectin off label on the birds and permethrin in the coop. WEAR A N95 or better face mask if you are using DE or permethrin dust, it's very bad to breathe. UGH! Mary
