Lice or mites need advice fast please

I have a BR that has been acting depressed and not eatting. So I checked her today and noticed white like cysts around her butt. I then checked one of my RIR ahd she had bugs on her.
I've not had any problems with mites or lice in past so what can I do that is best for 15 birds ?
My girls are pretty much free range so I figure this comes from wild birds so more likely a common problem. Also Do I need to worry about the lice spreading to my kids or is it Bird specific ?

It's probably lice and bird-specific.
The 'cysts' may be a waxy substance called gleet, indicating the lice are reproducing.

Miss Prissy has often recommended old sock from pantyhose with a mix of Sevin and food-grade diatomaceous earth (DE) in it to powder-puff under the wings and along the vent and petticoats. Dri- Kill can also be used instead of Sevin.

Thank you. I just got done powdering my girls. I also bought them some play sand. I tried to find DE but only stuff I could find was for pools and I knew that wasn't human grade so I am still looking.
I think this could be why my egg production has been lower then it should be. A few didn't have any lice but I still got their vent and behind each wing. I also cleaned hen house and changed the bedding.
