Hello!

So about 2 months ago all 3 of our rooster got lice. We cleaned out their coop and put dust on them. WE thought they were rid of it but then i noticed that one of our roosters was loosing his feathers. He checked his skin for lice and found he was COVERED in eggs and lice. His feathers are starting to get knotted and he doesn't look good. PLEASE give me your advice!

Thank you!

This does happen with chickens! Such a bummer! It happened to my flock once in the winter. I think wild birds may have made a home in the coop. Here's what I did:

I bought poultry dust from the farm store. Seven dust will also work. I totally gutted the coop and powdered it up real good. Then I powdered up each bird. Exactly two weeks later, I powdered them up again. This is to kill any eggs that hatch before they reach maturity and start laying again.

You have to do it twice or all your work is for nothing, and the lice will come back.

I hope this helps,
Sharon
