The batch I bought is supposed to be all pullets, however I have one light brahma that is substantially bigger and different looking than all its siblings. I do not see any saddle feathers but her tail feathers seem to be getting long.

So, is she a he, or is she just a big long legged gangly amazon hen?

she is the one in the middle, the two other light Brahmas next to her are hatch mates.

Here she is again, she is the on in behind, just showing difference in size again.

yeah, me too. That is what I was afraid of. the tail feathers are what is making me lean toward roo.

I think it's a young cockerel too. Brahmas are slow to mature but usually you can tell pullets from cockerels by the comb at that age. Pullet peacombs are tiny and pale.

It looks like a roo to me as well. The wattles and comb are very big and red and the tail doesn't look pullet-ish.

That tail is the give-away. He looks just like my Light Brahma Roo Waylon, who his the calmest mild mannered Roo.

well, if he is a roo, we will see how he ets along with bubba. Bubba is a 1 year old buff orpington roo. I got him from the same people that sold me the other pullets. He is the nicest roo I have ever seen. I would not mind 2 roos if they are both nice, don't pick on the girls too bad, and can tolerate each other.
