light sussex

so my neighbor is going to sell me marans fertile egg tomorrow and road island red fertile eggs but he offered me light Sussex eggs to and I'm going to take a few from him.
but just curious he told me they are big and I been looking at picture of them, is this a meat bird then?
and how big are they? like the brahma or bigger or smaller?

I really exited to get another big breed, I own 5 brahmas and there just adorable even tho they are so big size

We had 6 hens and a rooster for years, they're lovely birds (our last pure ones died a few years ago, now we've just gota few mixed offspring from them). They're pretty big, but not huge like jersey giants or brahmas
The ones we had had good temperaments, even the rooster
They were originally a meet breed I think, but they're good layers too

We have a flock of Light Sussex that we breed! I'm not too familiar with Brahmas, so I wouldn't know. I think they are actually a dual-purpose bird =)

thanks for your answers, I got eggs from him and hatch them out, unfortunately only 2 light Sussex chick hatched out, I'm going to wait and see if there a rooster or hen. if I have one hen and one rooster I could get more from them, but if there to roosters or to hens then I will get more light Sussex fertile eggs
