I am placing my baby chicks in the garage with a red heat lamp and that will be on all the time! There is a window that brings in natural light. My question is should I also keep the garage overhead light on during the day and off at night? or just let the window provide the light? thanks [IMG]

I would let the window provide the light. [IMG]

Hey welcome to the BYC [IMG]

The light is out at 7pm and the heat light is on until the last one is fully feathered or at about 6 to 7 weeks. The window will do just fine if you want to save the power and $$'s that it will save you
