My chick just hatched about 30 min ago. It has an area on it's neck that looks like a liquid filled pocket or bubble. Can anyone tell me what this is and is it fatal??

    Thank You,
    Nikki

No idea what it is, but it happens and usually goes away within the first day or two. Probably pressure due to the effort in getting out of the shell.

Thank You! I had no idea what it was, I thought my chick had some type of deformity. It did have a pretty strenuous hatch.

    Thanks Again,
    Nikki
