Haven't found anything like him in my catalogs or online, my grandparents got a bunch of chicks this past spring and there were several like him in the bunch, so I was seeing If anyone knows what he is?

You have yourself a mutt. Many people post on here asking for breed ID thinking that all chickens come from a certain breed. I must inform you that this is beyond false, and it turns out most of the time our 'Breed Identifying' is actually 'Ancestor speculating'. He looks LF so I have no idea what breeds could have genetically been possible parents.

Quote:Yes I'm well aware of that, but in the shipment they received from a hatchery had 25-30 (I think maybe more) birds like him, leading me to believe he's not a mutt.... If he were a mutt wouldn't there be less of a chance that there would be that many identical birds?

Quote:Also, the hens that came out are red with black on the tips their tale feathers, maybe they are mutts similar to sex-links were the chicks come out similar but won't breed true later on? Or maybe they are a true breed? Idk there just too many just alike to say they are mutts
