little giant hatch rates

Does anybody have a little giant still air incubator? If you do, please share hatch rates. I've used it twice and both hatches with quail were 25% and 30%. And please if you know explain why they are so bad

With quail I'm getting ~75% not including infertiles. It has hot and cold spots. There are other threads about it, the parts are cheap.

I have excellent hatch rates.


How many calibrated thermometers do you have in your incubator?
Did you salt test your separately purchased humidity gauge?

What were you keeping your humidity at?
Did you open the eggs that didn't hatch... If so were they fully developed chicks?

The 25% hatch is not over yet... Sorry if I made it sound that way. today is day 19 and 2 additional ones hatched. I keep my humidity during the incubation at 40%-45% and lockdown 65%-70%

That's too high for quail.
If you're on day 19 for quail that's not a good sign.

Next time try and keep your humidity at 30 and don't raise it until you see an external pip and then only raise it to about 50.

I only use mine as a hatcher, so for the last three days only, so far so good...
