My neighbor called me this morning, her grandpa has a bantam chicken wandering around his backyard. No clue as to where it came from at all. Nobody claimed it in a door to door inquiry. So we have it in our old coop for now (for medical quarantine and acclimation to our existing 4 hens).
She's a mild mannered little thing with a good appetite. (I hope it's a she, no roosters allowed in my neighborhood.) The black feathers have a blue/green sheen to them in the sunlight that shows pretty well in these photos.
Any idea of the breed or gender?

Possibly some sort of game cross? Looks sort-of roosterish to me though... But I have been known to make a mistake before [IMG] I think it looks like there are pointy saddle feathers and are those 2 sickle feathers sticking out of the tail? Don't quote me on anything [IMG] I've got no money on this guess, but I'm sure someone will be more help!!

    She is a he.

It appears to be an Indian Game or a Dark Cornish male.

I was wondering about it being a rooster also as I sorted through the photos and seeing it's head held up.

    Any more opinions?
