My poor little rooster, Hans is having vent problems :(
he strains when he poops and it bleeds a bit while he is in the process of it... he also squats :(
what's wrong with my rooster? i'm counting on him for breeding stock in a few months. he is 4 weeks tomorrow and he is a Lavender Orpington from Meyer Hatchery. Do you think he was damaged while he was being sexed? i know that they are professionals and all, but accidents happen, no matter how skilled you are.
his vent has looked this way since he was little, and he doesn't have any fuzz covering his vent area.
what can i do? i put some natural hemorrhoid salve on it... is there anything else?

    thanks! [IMG]

What about adding cooking oats to his feed? Electrolytes in the water is a good idea still. Good luck
Aww poor baby, what a gorgeous breed. I love dealing with Meyer Hatchery :D
IMO, I'd give them a call. I've called them before and visited when I have questions or issues. Not sure if sexing them would've cause issues though.

Your welcome. Helps with digestive tracts. Don't worry about it. I'm thrilled when I know answers as usually I'm the one to ask everything ;)
    Any time just PM me.
