I've known factory farming was bad, but accidentally clicked on a link that gave me more info than I was ready for.
I live in a neighborhood, not a farm, so I'm wanting to verify local ordinances before I pursue raising our own chickens for food. Our girls are for eggs, pets, and just fun.
Is there a way to connect to local farmers for meat? Right now, it'll just be chicken and turkey, but later on, I'd like to extend it to beef and pork as well once we have a deep freezer. I'd also love to find a way to get fresh milk.
There are a few reasons I would like to go this route: 1. I don't want to support factory farming and becoming vegan really isn't me. 2. Helping local farmers also supports the local economy and helps the "small farmers" get what they deserve financially for their meat instead of them being victims of these large corporations.
