So we are the proud new owners of chickens ... the first in our neighborhood. I posted the newly built Chicken Palace as well as our Floating Duck House at mcelfreshgardens.com in the past few months.... all inspired by posts here at backyardchickens.com.

We love weeding with the chickens... they are right at our feet... especially the Rhode Island Reds which are always talking to us. We have lost 1 chicken to roaming and 1 chicken to raccoons. I have reinforced the Chicken Palace roof netting with deer fencing.

For fun... I created a new blog of funny chicken pictures... it's in beta. I'm posting here in hopes that some folks here will help test it out and post their funny chicken pics. My pic is the one with the Yellow Lab looking at the chickens. Thanks for the feedback? I hope it turns into a fun site!

That's how I did the one with the lab staring at the chickens as well as the chicken running from the tiger.
