My bantam sat on two eggs and once hatched she tried to get rid of the chicks. Found one dead on floor and second one alive on floor later. Put it back with her and watched as she tried to shove it out and over the ledge. Saved it and it's survived 4 days and Seems healthy. Should I buy one or two more chicks to keep it company? Worried about introducing it later to hens all by itself. Any ideas?

It would be a good idea to introduce a couple more chicks. You may want to try putting them under her once more and if she pushes them over again, brood them indoors. Sorry for your loss!!

I would try and find a couple more that are also only a few days old and set up a brooder for them. The little chick needs company and introducing 3 into the flock will go smoother than just the one.

Thanks for the advice. It's a tough little peep and I don't want it to be tortured when I introduce it to the big girls. Will search for more!
