Look at the size of the egg my Hen laid today..Is this normal?
Every now and then a hen will lay a double yolk egg. Some hens do so quite regularly.
I'd say that's pretty normal. Always kind of fun to see what you get inside when that happens...a double yolker? maybe a triple yoker?
Let us know!
It happens. I even got a triple yoker one time.
Ended up being a double yolker...
Cool about the double.
To give you a size idea I wear a men's size large glove.
That's like 2 for the price of 1!
What type of hens do you have? When did they start laying? My reds and barred rocks do it a lot when they start laying and occasionally later, whereas the EE and others will just lay big single yokers that are the size if a double.
I have 7 redsex link hens, they started laying 1.5 years ago
