Look at the size of the egg my Hen laid today.. Is this normal?

    Look at the size of the egg my Hen laid today..Is this normal?

    Every now and then a hen will lay a double yolk egg. Some hens do so quite regularly.

    I'd say that's pretty normal. Always kind of fun to see what you get inside when that happens...a double yolker? maybe a triple yoker?

    What type of hens do you have? When did they start laying? My reds and barred rocks do it a lot when they start laying and occasionally later, whereas the EE and others will just lay big single yokers that are the size if a double.

    I have 7 redsex link hens, they started laying 1.5 years ago
